Hi, I am looking for some sort of paper to attach to the toilet seat to collect faeces for testing. Not just a piece of toilet paper, but something specially designed for this purpose - Does anyone have an idea what I am asking for and could you please help me with a trade name? Yours, Leo Use aluminum foil - heavy duty. You can pitch it when you're done. Saran Wrap or equivalent will work also. Do not contaminate with urine. Most stool tests don't require a ton of specimen. A piece the size of a walnut is perfectly acceptable for most testing (unless it's a 72 hour stool for fecal fat, in which case you need the entire specimen and you should have gotten a collection device from the laboratory). Microbiology gets fecal specimens daily. Some patients get very creative with collection. The worst one I ever got was a huge gallon glass jar with all of the feces at the bottom and I had to reach my [gloved] hand into it and get some for sampling. Yuck! Please don't do that. Saran Wrap is a plastic food wrap (I didn't realize you were probably from outside the US). Any sort of plastic wrap or plastic bag slipped over the toilet seat would work fine. Hi again Thank you very much for your answer. Yes I am from Europe. Denmark to be precise. The reason I am asking ia a call from a colleague who were in need of /wanted to buy this. They are carrying out an investigation and would like to standardize the collecting. In a former evaluation of another completely different test where they also needed stool, they used the before mentioned collecting papers, but noone has a clue where they got them from - and the persons involved are no longer in reach. I have been in contact with all I could think of within the supply business - and thought that perhaps some of all you smart people in this group might have come across something similar. Yes, those are the best if you have access to them. I'm sure some medical supply house has these in Denmark. You can turn them forward or backward depending if you need to collect urine or feces.
