Here is a short story
I was hospitalized for a major sub-occlusion of my intestine due to my Crohn
disease which mean a complete blockage of my gastro-intestinal track, can't
ingest anything even water, you vomit it, and no peristaltic movement.
They have put me on solumedrol IV 40mg 4 times daily for 3 weeks
Now back at home I'm on 45 mg prednisone daily.
Prednisone and me have a bad reaction on my nervous system; can sleep at
night, muscles spasm day and night and manic attack during the day and
restlessness. According to my gastroenterologist it is normal symptom in
some patient
I'm taking over 45 mg of prednisone daily and my nervous system feel like he
is plugged on 220 volts all day and I have major insomnia at night and
slight depression effect ( prednisone and me don't mixes too well but I
have no choice)
Doctor have prescribe me 2 mg rivotril 3 times daily 1 to be taken at night
with 30 mg of remeron (mirtazapine), now at least I can sleep at least 6
hours per night instead of 3
But during the day 2mg of rivotril seems to have little to no effect on my
nervous system due to the amount or prednisone I am taking. I tried 4mg but
not much more effect.
Here is my question, will 2 mg rivotril plus 2 mg of xanax or X mg of
valium
will help calm me down so I can function properly.
Is there other medicine I can take that can counteract the effect prednisone
have on my nervous system?
Right now my nervous system seems like a ticking bomb even on 2 mg rivotril
3 times a day
thank you in advance for any response

Rather than medication advice, you may consider looking for nutritional
support......
Look for books by Dr. Earl Mindell
He has been very accurate in comparison to most nutritionists.
Good luck!
