Yesterday i have one urine from 1 year old child and i found many renal
cells. Person who clerical check mine results didn't agree with me and said
that cells in child urine are squamous and said that children epitel cells
are different than adult. Is that true? Is child kidney different as adult?

Thank you,

Mitja

If the cells are in clusters and they are tear-drop shaped or have a pointed
end then I would favor bladder epithelial cells. These are common findings
in children and they appear smaller in size in comparison to adult bladder
epi's.
