Hmm... when I said "pay being standardised" - I was talking about the fact
that even though the system of job matching is supposed to be standardised -
EI sites seem to have differences in gradings.

Reading the posts on the IBMS forum, the main bit of advice seems to be to
put in as much as you can. Our union rep has told me that even though I've
given talks etc. ("convey complex information to large groups of people" in
job-matching speak!)and therefore would qualify for higher points on the
communication bit for job matching, I still have to put in that I answer the
telephone and give out results which is lower down the scale. It's getting
silly now.

That's down to the job descriptions.

How often do you give talks?
The matching panel may ask this and if it's once in a blue moon then they
may not give it much weight.
Answering the phone and giving results might not be as simple as that, for
example, do you give advice or interpret results?
