Hello everyone,
I am writing because I am curious what the International Herpes Week from
10/31/2005 to 11/6/2005 is used for? I know it is a week to show awareness,
but how is this done? Is there any special behavior or practices that people
with herpes usually take during this week? I just didn't know what to
expect. I have had herpes for a while, but haven't really been in the loop
until recently, and this is only because I didn't know I had this for a long
time.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom
International Herpes Week is an initiative of the International Herpes
Alliance, various groups and organisations organise activities, promote
herpes awareness resources, hold talks, etc.
There's not much info available yet on this years activities but if you
keep checking back with the IHA website you will see their updates:
http://www.herpesalliance.org/IHW.htm
In Australia we hold our national herpes gathering to coincide with
IHW, (this year it will be held in Sydney). We will be officially
launching our new herpes resource website, promoting 'herpes awareness'
and 'acceptance' and our new 'herpes friendship ring program'.
I'm sure as the date gets closer, other groups and organsiations will
begin promoting their activities and programs. Hope you have the
opportunity to attend or particpate in one of them where you are.
best wishes
Jeannie
