This is normal, at least for me. The type of symptoms experience vary
from person to person, however. I've had anything from itchy patches of
red skin, to small pimple-looking things, to full-blown 'weeping' sores.
Your mileage may vary, but as per my experiences, what you're seeing is
not abnormal.

Anything is possible with herpes and sometimes you can't even see or feel
the activity on the surface of the skin.

I don't know what to tell you..
It could be a hepres outbreak and then again not every itch or tingle is
herpes.

Well I think I have a better idea about how my story plays out. I think I
was recently infected with type 2 by a person that was actually trying to
blame me for giving it to her and instead she gave it to me. Now I am having
very frequent outbreaks. The primary one for the type 2 was in early feb
2005. Previously for the past 7 years I have had a minor case of type 1
genital that was affecting me 3-4 times a year and mild at that. I don't
know how I got the type 1, but it wasn't that bad, certainly not like this
recent infection has been.
Sometimes when I get outbreaks I just get aching in the muscles and other
times I get a sore tingly feeling in the skin, but nothing visible, other
times it is a matter of red patches or pimples, that appear like blisters a
little. I don't seem to get the big weeping sores though. My outbreaks never
seem to be quite the same, always something different. The only thing that
is the same is where I get the blisters and patches, which are 95% always on
the inner thighs near the privates, but never right on the privates for some
weird reason.
