Hello,
I have a couple of more technical questions that I wanted to know if anyone
had the answers to.
1. When there is itching in the pelvic area, does that mean that these areas
are the locations that the shedding is occurring?
The reason I am asking is because when I get genital herpes itching it
sometimes occurs on the head of the penis but also more often on the sides
of the hips and inner thighs, and the inner thighs are the areas that I
often get the actual blisters. Recently I had a "line" that formed right on
the right side of the penis head area and this was also where I had alot of
itching. After examining the "line" more carefully I noticed that it looked
like it was actually a line of tiny raised bumps.
2. When I had a small oral outbreak, I also had an occurrence where the
glands in back and slightly below my right ear were swollen and red. It
looked like someone gave me a hickey on that area because the skin was
actually hot and red. I know that these glands are where the oral herpes is
dormant, and I also saw another person that had the same thing happen when
this person was having a cold sore. In my case I didn't have a cold sore at
the time, just some itching and burning going on the lip area. Is this a
normal occurrence or at least a known affect of an oral herpes outbreak?
Any information would be helpful.
Thanks,
Tom

Asymptomatic Shedding is the Herpes Virus active on the surface of the skin.
You are not likely going to see or feel this when it's happening.
The itching that you are experiencing could be signs of an outbreaks or of
something else. Have you discussed this with your doctor?

It could be part of your oral herpes outbreak or it could be that you have
an ear infection going on. You won't really know unless you have the doc
check it out and talk with you more about this.. ya know?
