Hello all,

Well I guess my body is evolving, because lately I have been getting
clusters of blisters on the shaft and head area, and alot more burning along
with that. Prior to this I used to only get a group of 1-2 blisters on the
inner thigh or buttocks and more in the way of nerve pain. I know I need to
consider taking Valtrex, but due to my health coverage it will be very
costly to take, so I am going to see if I can go without that for a while.

What I am looking for is some kind of OTC cream that I can buy for a
reasonable price to cool the burning, itching and aching in the privates
from the blisters. A friend mentioned a hemroidal cream called Nupracainal,
and I tried it. It works okay, but not as good as I want. I want something
to actually cool the area. What about some of the internet only brands like
Chloraphor? Is that any good?

Thanks,
Tom

As long as you're experimenting, try Abreva. It comes in a tiny tube
for about $13-$14 at discount pharmacies but a little goes a long way.
It's marketed for Oral herp but I've heard from several peeps that've
tried it genitally and they swear by it. To be fair, I've also heard
from others (who haven't tried it as far as I know) that it doesn't
work. YMMV Couldn't hurt to try it though. If you do, let us know what
you think.

I've never heard anything good about Chloraphor except those
testimonials on the site. Looks like snake oil to me.

Okay, well I have used Abreva on the oral herpes that I get once in a while,
and it seems to work pretty good. I never tried it on the genital area, but
maybe I should. I'm actually going to another clinic tomorrow night to look
into more treatment options.

Thanks,
Tom
