And she is totally ok with it. I couldn't believe it. She still wants to be
with me. What a relief! :)

I am proof that telling beforhand can pay off.

Thanks all for your support. I will still visit on a regular basis of
course.

Take care

Well done!! :)
Its great that she is ok and understanding with it.
It's just a shame that so many other partners just dont understand and
immeditaley want to split with there partner on the mis-concepitain
its "some horrbile  non-curable virus" which while true, is a very
meldramtic way of putting it.

Take care!

"Pete" or "Bradley" is a troll who is here to satisfy some perverse
need of his own by spreading discouragement and negativity to those
who might be susceptible to it.

Actually, "Pete", our experience on this group shows that there aren't
"so many partners" who respond negatively when introduced to the
information that someone has herpes.  Most people in fact respond
positively.

Also, your contention that herpes is a "horrbile" disease is likewise
false.

Whatever disease is eating at *your* brain, "Pete", *is* horrible.

It's probably true that most people take the news appropriately and may be
freaked out but are still willing to listen and learn.  One time, however, I
was making out with a guy and it was obvious he wanted to go further so I
came right out and told him.  He got mad, acted like I was a leper and went
and washed out his mouth.  Funny thing though is that I've never had a cold
sore in my life.  Just genital herpes from a cheating ex-boyfriend.  I
haven't even had that many outbreaks and haven't had one for a long time.
I'm still terrified I'm going to get that same reaction everytime I get
ready to tell a guy.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!  That's good news.  People are nice, aren't they?

>I am proof that telling beforhand can pay off.

Yep.  All the worry is usually for naught.

Please do.

Likewise.

Yay!  Don't you feel better?  I wish you the best of luck in this new
relationship.

The best piece of advice I could have used early on would have been to stay
on top of the info because it's always changing.  Which isn't to say you
need to read up on it every day, but say every six months see if there's any
new news.

Best,
mishaisacat
