I just noticed a small sore area on my very inner left thigh. I have to
literally stretch the skin to notice it. It looks like a cut would look like
after the scabs are gone. It's a few spots in one small area. Like a pinkish
skin tone. Not very red at all. I checked out pictures of herpes on the web
and it doesn't look like it. It's not bumpy or anything and it's not painful
at all. Actually it only hurts slightly if I rub it, stretch the skin apart,
or spray water on it. To me it just has the characteristics of some rugburn
or something. I know herpes can be painful but does it hurt only if you rub
it or pour water on it? I've noticed this sore for a day now and it hasn't
gotten any worse. One of the reasons I'm concerned is because I did have a
one-night stand last weekend. Although I didnt notice any sores or anything
on the girls vaginal area or mouth and I did use a condom. I also have a
soreish area on my right inner thigh but it doesn't look as bad as the left
side, it's more like some raised discolored line. I'm thinking this is
possibly an irritation I've developed because I recently started wearing
underwear instead of boxers, so maybe it was caused by the friction of the
underwear. I'd just like to know if what I have sounds anything like herpes
or not. Thanks.

From what you've told us, I wouldn't rule it out. On the other hand,
it could be caused by practically anything. Only one way to find out
and that's for a doctor to do a looksee, a culture, and a blood test.
Take my word for it, an internet diagnosis by us would be an
impossible long shot in the dark.

I hope that you didn't get H. Recently, I too had very similar symptoms and
encounter (actually, exactly the same). So I was wondering if you got any
test results back. Already I went to a doctor for visual examination and was
told it was fungal (at Planned Parenthood). Still, I have many of the
associated symptoms and am really anxious at the thought of an outbreak and
the prospect of waiting a couple months for a blood test.
Thanks in advance.

A visual examination is not good enough. You need proper herpes testing in
order to determine if you have it or not. Also, not everybody with herpes
experiences signs or symptoms. It's still possible to pass herpes even if
there are no outbreaks.
