I saw my Primary Care Physician, who seemed real nice, but actually
discouraged me from getting a Western Blot Test, saying it wouldn't
conclusively show me which Type (1 or 2) Herpes infection I have.
I'm amazed, actually; from everyone that's been to this doctor, the
feedback has been positive, but I was stunned that he was HIGHLY
resistant to me having this test done 'It won't show anything
conclusive', he said.
Anybody else experience this?
Thanks

I've heard that same scenario from quiet a few peeps. I would suggest
politely asking where his information came from ... and when he last
researched it. Then explain that your research shows otherwise. And
recommend he check out websites such as:
http://www.herpesdiagnosis.com/
(there are others)
Or maybe print some of the information on that website for him/her to
read. If he reads it, it may help. ... or maybe not, depending on the
doc. Wouldn't hurt to try though.

My PCP discouraged me from a blood test, also. She seem to think her
clinical diagnosis was enough. I pushed her on it and got my blood test.
It came back negative for antibodies.
I scheduled an appt with my OBGYN to get his opinion. Maybe do the same
(if assuming you are a female that has written the posting).
