I have hsv2. My b/f is negative for all hsv's. Do we need to be concerned
of transmittal when kissing each other (via mouth)? Does it change if I'm
having an OB or not?
Thanks,
~R

If you have Genital Herpes Type-2 then the chances of your boyfriend getting
Oral Herpes Type-2 are rare. It's not impossible but even if he did (let's
just say for arguments sake) he would probably only get one outbreak and not
get any more.. unless of course his immune system is compromised with other
health issues. Here's a link you can check out so you will be more informed
about the differences between type-1 and type-2:

Herp is transfered via skin to skin contact. But only from that
portion of skin that's shedding virus to skin that's vulnerable. If
you have genital herpes only, virus will not be shed from your oral
area no matter which type HSV you have genitally. So anyone or
anything you kiss will not be exposed to the virus via kissing.
