Hi Yosh
Are you sure about the name change to "Biokit"?
Biokit is a company that's been in business for quite awhile. Since
the old Pockit is only one additional product in their product line,
just seems like they'd give it some other name.
But whatever the case, have you heard when they plan to get it on the
market? Shouldn't take long since their distribution network is well
established world wide, including the US. Plus, Pockit has already
been approved here.
And I agree, it IS great news :-)
Let us know if you hear more.
Thanks,
M2

This is the note that was shared over on Picking Up the Pieces...
Finally the pockit test is back on the market with a new name and a
new company! For those of you not familar with the pockit test it is
a point of care hsv2 blood test. What this means is a simple finger
prick and within about 10 mins you know if you have hsv2 or not right
there in your doctor's office. Doesn't help with hsv1 genital
infections but it's a quick answer for hsv2 ( if you've had the virus
long enough to make detectable antibodies for it ). I haven't had
time to read thru their new website completely but here's the link
for it :

Yes, it is called BioKit and it is the POCkit test, made by a new company.
It is now available.

There's a reason for that :-)

Thanks Yosh ... maybe they'll update their website soon with some
information about it. Diagnology (developer of Pockit) had what I
thought was a very informative site regarding Herp. Plus, a page you
could print to take to your doctor with a phone number and information
on how the test kits could be ordered. I thought that a great idea and
hope Biokit does the same. Doctors seem to pay more attention to an
official looking hardcopy page than they do to their patients.
Thanks again,
M2

I'm not done investigating because I personally find it odd that they would
call it BioKit since as you pointed out.. that's the name of the company.
I've presented some questions to Terri about it on WebMD. I'm looking
forward to hearing back from her on it. Yes, I don't really like how they
have the BioKit site set up. I will post more information as I find it.
Sound Good?
