I think I have herpes on the scrotum. I have had herpes before on the
penis shaft, and I did not feel a sting, but now it does sting.
Somehow it "jumped" from the top to the bottom. I am taking Valtrex.

I want to know if there are any measures I can take to atleast reduce
chances of possible spreading from the scrotum during sex when the
virus is dormant. Could application of spermicide or some other
antiviral ointment be of any use?

Or are my options 1)seek God 2)castrate myself(I'm serious about this
either way 3)both

Hi Arnold,

Herpes outbreaks can occur anywhere within the boxer short area.  The reason
is that the virus lives inside the nerve bundle that services the area.  The
virus will then take any one of the nerve paths to the surface of the skin.
So, it can jump around.  Or, it can stay put.  My outbreaks used to
alternate sides of the body.  But rest assured, it is the same herpes you've
always had.  :)

There are no other measures you can take at this time.  You already have
herpes and these outbreaks are caused by the exact same virus that was
causing the outbreaks in the other location.  I don't know if that makes you
feel any better or not.

I don't believe that spermacides will do anything for you.

As far as your options go:  seeking God is an individual choice but he can't
get rid of your herpes, either.  And castration also won't get rid of the
herpes.  I would, instead, up your dose of Valtrex.

Take care,
ar

Your best bet would be to read the "Updated Herpes Handbook". It's available
on the internet:
