Can you have herpes and it lay dormant
for 30 years before you know you have it?

Thank you,

Jerry

I'll let you know more after I get the results back from a Western Blot
test. :-)  Should find out next week.  I might be in a similar situation.
Though it might not have been dormant, it's just the symptoms weren't enough
for me to notice.

Yes, it is possible.

I don't know if it can lay dormant for 30 years but
to my knowledge, from my experience and observations, there is no way
that the traces of virus would form
virions, able to travel along the axon, from the ganglia and
becoming functional and able to multiply.

If there is not a reinfection with herpes virus from an outside
source,
the virus cannot shed for 30 years, not even for 1 year, without
causing a noticeable OB.

Of course, these are open for debate; with facts to back it up, of
course.
