I have noticed that when I have OB's close together that they are not quite
as painful. If I have one after a good while of no prodrome, no OB, or
anything, it seems to hit harder.  Or maybe I just notice it more. I'm not
sure.

What do you all think??

Maybe your antibodies are more numerious after getting all riled up
with one infection, and work better on the subsequent one.  Maybe?

Hmm. That sounds pretty good. I hadn't thought of that. Could be!

I've noticed this too.  After thinking that I finished one, I actually
scratched the skin and found a small outbreak flaring up again, but this
time not as severe.  I think the biggest thing is stress, though.
Everytime I have school crunch time (finals), I breakout (of course,
there are other times, too).

anonymous- when you have an OB due to stree, are you taking any suppressive
meds?

Lately, I've been taking my girlfriend's generic acyclovir (400MG 3x
daily) for each outbreak.

However, the last time I had a bad outbreak was before I had taken it,
so not in that case, no.

It does seem to help a lot, lately, although I find that even with
acyclovir, I still can feel prodrome (itching, tingling) for a short
while (usually an hour, after eating nuts or something).

For people on daily suppressive therapy, do you ever get prodrome at all?

Thanks
