I am planning on getting tested ASAP, but right now I am wondering
what else could it possibly be...?

I have constant cold sores -- once one area improves, another area
flares up.
My 6000 mg of Lysine + 2500 mg Ester C per day are not suppressing my
cold sores -- although, I suspect that it helps.  This is why I am
wondering if maybe it isn't herpes.  I am certain that my
Lysine/Arginine ratio highly favors Lysine (I very carefully watch my
diet and supplement).  I am getting my sleep, exercising, keeping
stress low.

What other possible condition could this be, if any, other than an
extremely severe case of HSV ?

Thank you kindly,
Rodge

Why do you suspect that it helps?
Only certain people have good luck with Lysine. Others see no affect
at all.  And in still other cases, Lysine seems to actually trigger
outbreaks. Are you sure you're not one of those people? I wouldn't bet
money one way or the other. But you might try quitting the Lysine cold
turkey, for a few weeks anyway, to see if it helps.

If there's any doubt, have the lesions cultured. That's the only way
to find out the cause of a specific lesion.

That all sounds good. Certainly couldn't hurt.

Could be any number of things. If it's a classic textbook case, a doc
might be able to visually diagnose it. But to be certain, you really
need a culture done.
