Thanks for answering; there is not really much stuff that I can add to it,
so I will try to go further with some of the other issues related to herpes.
The fact that you have stayed so healthy, far from drugs, alcohol, smokes,
should be a very good indicator that you will cure your tyroid problem.
It sounds pretty tough for you, that you must avoid such and such
foods, but hopefully one day you will be able to
return to a regular diet, that will include them foods, too.
Not sure about the iodine stuff, but I've read about Kelp as being
high in iodine. You probably know this already.

Hi Perl,
Glad we cleared up the confusion.

Oh! I don't consider those antivirals. No, I do not take supplements. I
learned a long time ago that most of them make me sick. I have trouble just
taking vitamins and tend to stay away from them.

For thyroid stuff, we argue mostly about whether or not iodine is good or
bad (depends on what caused your thyroid disease in the first place). They
also recommend taking B12 because thyroid problems can cause problems with
absorption in the gut. But I can't take B12...And they recommend that we
stay away from the goitergens - broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage. These
are all fine when cooked - just not when raw. And, of course, stay far away
from soy.

I'm glad to hear it. :)

:) I was a strange kid...everyone else was trying to score some beer and
all I wanted to do was get home and back to whatever book I was reading.

Perl,
You keep missing the point. I LIKE this food. For me, eating this diet is
what saved my life. Why on Earth would I go back to an UNnatural diet that
would make me sick? I'm not missing anything by eating a healthy, good for
you diet.
I don't think I will cure my thyroid disease. My thyroid problem was caused
by an upper respiratory disease that I developed. I believe that part of my
thyroid was damaged. I don't think it will fix itself.

Being healthy is not a sacrifice. It's a joy.

Yes, kelp is high in iodine. I avoid it.
