I purchased Acyclovir online (90 pills at 800mg). I'm taking 5 pills a day.
I have genital herpes. After taking the pills my throat is really chalky.
It feels as if I have a lump in my throat. I have tried taking the pills
with milk and food but the chalkyness still lingers. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Try chasin' it with beer? ;-)
Kidding aside, have you checked to see if they're available in capsule
form instead of pills? Or maybe 400mg pills if they're smaller. Just
take twice as many.
Best I can do <shrug> sorry.

Dry throat is a VERY common side effect to most pharmasuticals. How do I
know? I was once on a drug called "Levbid" which caused the same problem. On
top of that, a few days into taking the drug my eyesight started getting
blurry. The eyedoctor said "does this drug make your throat feel dry or
chaulky? Yes? Ah, well that's it then. It's paralizing a muscle at the back
of your eye that helps you to focus." so I stopped taking the drug. My
eyesight never did fully come back. I have glasses now for the first time in
my life. And no I can't sue, I checked.
