Hi, I have a prescription for valtrex and I did not get it yet. i was
wondering if you could tell me what I might expect to pay ( I'm in the
US )
I belive it is 1 month supply however I think I see 500 mg and I think I
see the number 60, you know dr.s writing and all.
so is this taken 2 times a day or is it for 2 months,
but could you please give me a ball park figure on what I might pay for
this.
no prescription plan!
thank you IA. Kimmy
Prices vary depending on where you shop. But here's an online pharmacy
that you can compare with:
http://www.drugplace.com
Their 500mg bottles come 30 tablets to the bottle at $126.69 so 60
(two bottles) would run $253.38. Does your doc know you don't have
prescription insurance???
The price is so high because it hasn't gone generic yet. So if money
is an object, you might get the doc to write a prescription for
Acyclovir instead. As you can see from the same site, a bottle of 100
tablets at 400mg each can be had for $27.49.
Granted, the dosage will be higher so there's not a direct price
correlation. Also, the dosage of either Valtrex or Acyclovir is
determined by whether or not you'll be taking them daily for
suppression vs only during outbreaks. Either way, generic Acyclovir
will be quite a bit less expensive.

Hello Group
Just for comparison ... I live in Calgary Alberta Canada and 30 500mg
Valtrex costs me $101.00 Canadian ... that's about $75 American.
Thanks!
