I have a dear friend who has had her first experience with shingles.
It has now been 7 weeks and the shingles have cleared up but the pain
is almost more than she can deal with.  Does anyone out there know
where I can get information on Post-herpetic Neuralgia.  Would like to
find a forum if possible.  Also would like any suggestions as to
finding doctors who might specialize in this field.  We are in the NW
corner of Arkansas.
Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi.  I'm not sure of any dedicated PHN forums, but you could try
searching with "post herpetic neuralgia" at one of:

www.google.com
www.dogpile.com
www.teoma.com

And there's this old information.  Don't know if the links work but
the text will give you ideas to search on or discuss with a doc.

Hope that helps.

What does her doctor suggest?  Has she tried over the counter pain meds?
