I have Genital HSV-1. I get a red spot on the foreskin every few months or
longer. I got it from a girl who didn't know she had oral Herpes. I can
pretty much pinpoint the time I got it...rough oral sex. I chafed my skin
thereby exposing myself to it.
Anywho, if I am not showing any symptoms, and my new partner rubs me with
her hand, is there a risk great enough that she shouldn't be doing it in the
first place?and sometimes she gets dry hands I think.
She's on vacation now and coming back in a week, then I got to tell her.
Sometimes I feel good about it, then times like now I feel sick to my
stomach.
Her friend gets cold sores and is involved with a guy for the past few
years. Isn't he at risk of getting it (assuming he doesn't already) just by
kissing her even if she doesn't show symptoms?
This is very hard emotionally...not sure if I'm going to be able to play it
cool when I tell. Might have to take a trip to the liquor store for som rum
beforehand lol
Hello Mr. Roper~
Perhaps some good information for you to read about transmission is in

Hi, Mr Roper. It could happen.

It is possible to get herpes on the hand or fingers, which is known as
Herpes whitlow.
I would think that the risk would be that more than her hands would
end up touching you.
>She's on vacation now and coming back in a week, then I got to tell her.

I know it isn't easy. Not easy at all. But it's the best thing to
do. There's no way to not dread it, and there's hardly any way to
suave and smooth about it, so you just have to do it, and know that it
probably won't turn out as bad as you're afraid it will. The vast
majority of people who tell, and tell us about it, are surprised at
how well it goes. Herpes is not that big a deal and people are
generally prepared to surmount all kinds of obstacles for a little bit
of love.

Yep. Likely he does already have it, and likely your friend is not
oblivious to her friend's cold sores and is partially or somewhat
knowledgable on the subject, or may even be afraid of telling *you*
something.

Well, don't drink too much, but it isn't the kind of thing that anyone
can really play cool at. It's just one of those things you have to
do. We really hate to get serious in our relationships, but quite
often we worry more than we need to leading up to it.
Take care,
Mike

Thanks Mike...
I'm worried about the hands after I tell her. Basically I need to lay down
some ground rules. I was hoping to find out how other people handle
it....excuse the pun.
