I had a 3 blister cold sore on my lip and I'm finally getting over it
after bombarding it with every medication I could find (zovirax,
herpecin, lysine, tea tree, abreva). It recurred slightly for a couple
more days -- but now, after all scabbing is gone, there is still a
redness, slight tingling and protrusion in the middle of my lip.
Is this a scar? how long will it stay red like this?
Also, while looking at my lip in good light with a magnifying bathroom
mirror, I can see lots of tiny white bumps on the underside of my
lip(under the skin surface), which look like cold sores that are lying
in wait.
Thanks in advance for any info

Hi Mike,
I'm not an expert on cold sores but I would suggest calling your doctor and
asking for a prescription of Valtrex or another antiviral to help fight off
whatever may be coming next.
Good luck.
