i am really worried that i have herpes. i've had unprotected sex with
partners, but it was shortly after i split up with a long-time
girlfriend that small 'marks' appeared under my foreskin. they werent
sore, itchy, painfull etc etc, so i just expected them to go away.
however, it's been around a year and they're still there. i've only
now got the courage to do something.
i've uploaded an image (not safe for work) of the sores, i'd be glad
if you could take a look and give me some advice?

I am not even going to look at the picture and I doubt anyone else here
wants to. Go see a doctor; then come back with a diagnosis and the friendly
people here will offer what advice they can.

Why don't you go to the doctor and get a type specific herpes test?
90% of the people that have genital herpes don't even know that they have it
and herpes is *not* included in the routine std testing process.

Have they changed at all? Did they start out red? The picture does
not to appear to be of what I'd call "sores"... but does look like
there may be some sort of scar tissue.
"Sores" usually include broken skin, and possibly some weeping.
Any questionable marks should be examined by a doctor.

I looked at the picture and it looks like he has PPP "Pearly Papules" or
something like this. It's a skin condition and normal in alot of males.
