I told me ex today that have herpes...and believe he is the one who gave it to me since he was the only one i had no condom sex with... He thought I was kiddin;....thought it was funny!...How rude... He says I couldn't have gotten it from him..since he doesn't have it.. I then said that you can be a carrier for years without any outbreaks or symtoms....he is in denial. And im stuck with this dam disease. :( Good for you! Maybe you could have challenged him to take the test, if he is so sure of himself he has nothing to fear from the results. You could have contacted it from any sex partner....because HSV can live where condoms don't cover, like the base of a man's penis. That is why many sources say a condom can not fully prevent the spread of the disease. You could also have contacted from a partner performing oral sex on you -- a person could have had type 1 and given you type 2 genitally -- and never even had sex with him. Your ex might be right, he might be wrong. If he was smart, he would get himself tested. You are right, he could be a carrier. Bottom line is chances are you will never know where you got it from. But, good news is that the disease gets easier to live with. You are right....i could have gotten herpes from not just him....BUT..there was only one guy before him....and it was about 8 years ago. I have no way to get in touch with him.....He told me he was gay about 5 years ago...and since then i really don't care where he is.. Question for the ladies... I tend to get itching around my vagina...the outside where my legs meet...right around my period time...any others have that too?....So far the worst was in late october...lately....i can go a week without even knowing i have this..cross my fingers...;) kc Yes. I do get the itching you are describing. In the past, up until about 45 days ago, it meant I was going to get an outbreak as my period and outbreaks went hand in hand. For me, the menstrual time was hard on my body....and therefore brought on a outbreak. =/ Now that I haven't had an outbreak in 45 days after having about 2 a month for the past 8 months, what I notice is that when I am stressed, not taking care of myself, sick or on my period....I get those tingles but nothing comes of it.
