If someone was diagnosed with herpes from a Blood test, but never had
any symptoms(sores on genital or mouth) should they take medication
now or wait to see if they get any outbreaks.

Hello Mahogany!  Most people with herpes don't know they have it, and
don't take any medicine for it.  It's all up to you.  If you don't get
outbreaks, you might want to take one of the antivirals to help
protect prospective partners against the risk of asymptomatic
shedding, but that would be about it.  If you do eventually have
outbreaks then it's up to you whether or not you want to take the
medicine or just suffer through like a lot of people do.

Take care,

Mike

I take suppressive medication only because I have a LOT of outbreaks.
However, whether or not you take meds is totally up to you, the number
of outbreaks you have and how 'inconvenienced' the HSV makes your
life.

If you have never had any symptoms, what prompted the blood test?
