OK. I have the lovely 1 gram Valtex. HOw do you divide the huge honker without destroying them? That stuff is almost as vile as quinine. I said several, "Yes, I do love this man." before pursuading myself to put it in my mouth and swallow it followed by crackers to cover the taste. At least it wasn't bad enough to make me gag. LK I have found that it helps if you throw your head back a little as you try to swallow a pill. Also, relax your throat so it won't try to choke you to death. Sorry! I've had large oval pills that were cut get stuck in my throat if they go down the cut side first. You could grind the thing down(mortar and pestel or spoon and bowl) and put contents in a capsule, available at health food stores. LK, Why do you want to divide them? If you only need 500 mg than why don't you ask your doctor for the 500 mg pills? If Valtrex makes you gag than how come you don't try Famvir or Acyclovir? I tried turning them on edge and that works. They do not break up. Much easier and I take it with food to mask the taste. So much better. Is there any data as to how long it takes to reduce the shedding? LK |
