Can HSV (I or II) be transmitted through tainted blood?
My wife had surgeries (many years ago) and blood was given.

No.
If the virus were to ever emerge from it's hiding place within the
specific nerves cells where it resides, it would be immediately zapped
by antibodies in the blood stream.

Herpes is in no way a blood borne disease. Skin to skin contact is
what does it.
