Valtrex during outbreak?

I ran out of my valtrex and was not able to refill until about day 2-3
of my outbreak. It is still in full force unfortuneately. I was
wondering if taking Valtrex this late will do any good at all? Either
shorten the duration or relieve the pain. I know the Valtrex web page
states "no evidence blah blah" if taken 24 hours after the initial
symptons.

Just curious if I should start some Valtrex, or ride out the pain.

Well, you can do one of two things. 1.) You can ride out the outbreak and
let it heal all on it's own. OR 2.) You can take the Valtrex and see what
happens. It's totally up to you.

If it were me and I was having an outbreak that was on the painful side I
would still take some Valtrex no matter how late in the game I was in
getting my hands on some.

What's your pain tolerance like? Seriously, it's up to you. Ride it out and
see how it goes if you want to. Just make sure you are not putting anybody
at risk.

Good Luck,

Angela
