How likely is it for herpes to spread to your arm?

Hi,

I know what everyone is going to say, and no I didnt get a culture done.

A week or so ago I ended up one morning with a cluster of itchy blister like
bumps on the underside of my right arm near the wrist area. There were about
5 blisters, 4 are connected and one near the cluster, the cluster feels kind
of hard to the touch. They started out white and itchy and then went to red
and itchy and a little sore, and one was open and later scabbed. I was
wondering if I could have spread herpes from my genitals to my arm when I
was washing up? Is that common in a healthy person who has had genital
herpes for 12 years or more?

What about the gym? I work out at a healthclub. Could I have gotten herpes
on my arm that way like from touching equipment?

I know it cannot be poison ivy because if it were it would have spread down
the arm and plus I wasnt in the woods. It doesnt look like a bug bite either
or an allergic reaction.

I would assume you didn't get it from the gym.  But you could have spread it
to your arm...but it is unlikely.  No sense in going back and forth about
possibilities until you know what it is.

Well its a little better now. One is scabbed and the others are red and
smaller, still slightly itchy but not like before. If it come back again
I'll know its herpes I guess.
