Hello,
I am very new to this.  After living with Herpes for two years, I
finally decided to join a group to talk about it and help ease the
emotional burden that comes with it.  It's incredibly difficult because
most of the time I feel like there is no future for me.  I am divorced
and have a child but would love to remary and have more kids.  My
boyfriend and I just broke up after two years and since he has it too,
it seems like my hopes for a future are gone.  It's very hard  because
I am 36 and Muslim.  I am not even supposed to have sex outside of
mariage much less end up with an STD.  I cry  endlessly cursing myself
for the mistakes I made and hope that God will forgive me for them.  I
am sorry that I am ranting but I appreciate you reading.
Take care-

That's should help to get things off your chest. If you find that this one

Well, if I can do it... anybody can, right?

Why do you think that?

Do you still live at home with your parents?

If your God is a loving and kind God then you shouldn't have any problem.

Hi,

The original post did not come through my server, so I'm sorry I missed it.

Welcome to the group.  Talking about it with others is a good way to start
dealing with it.

>> It's incredibly difficult because

Absolutely!  There's no reason why you can't do all of that.  Herpes only is
a problem if you allow it to be a problem.

>> My
>> boyfriend and I just broke up after two years and since he has it too,

I understand that feeling.  I felt the same way once...a very long time ago.
But again, herpes is only a problem if you allow it to be one.

Religious restrictions can be very difficult--especially if they play with
your mind!  Don't let what you were taught when you were a child get you
down.

>> I cry  endlessly cursing myself
>> for the mistakes I made and hope that God will forgive me for them.

My honest opinion is that God really doesn't care what mistakes you made, or
think you made.  What God cares about is that you continually work on
improving yourself, showing compassion for yourself and others, and living
the life you have been given to its fullest.

Well, that's what we're here for.

I want to thank you very much for your kind responses and support.  To
answer a few questions, no I am not living with my parents.  I have
been in the US for the past 18 years and go back home to visit
occasionally.

It's true that God is forgiving and kind.  I know in my heart that he
forgives me for my trespasses and looks down on me with compassion.  I
guess I should just have more faith in Him.

I work and support my daughter and myself.  I know that my life is a
lot better than many.  I guess it's just overwhelming sometimes and you
think there's nobody out there who understands.

Take care

Hi Dune,

Yes, life can get very overwhelming sometimes.  :)  I'm sure you are doing a
much better job of taking care of yourself and your daughter than you think
you are.  Be gentle with yourself.

Take care,
