Is it normal to get a tingling feeling a few hours after kissing someone?
but no coldsore? Is this a sign that you have been infected (the tingling
feeling), or is the tingling feeling only when an outbreak is about to
occur? or is this a sign that you already had the cold sore virus and for
whatever reason the tingling just decided to start then?

thanks

Could be yes to all of the below scenarios or no to all of them.  The best
thing you can do is go to the doctor and insist on a herpes blood test to
see if you already have herpes.

There isn't much more to add to what AR has shared with you. The only other
thing that I can think of that might cause tingling after a kiss is lip
ointment left behind on your partner's lips?

Hang in there,

I just had my first coldsore, and there was quite a bit of tingling.
Just watch for a red spot to form, watch for any burning, itching, any
type of blisters. I had a blood test (positive for hsv-1), and that
would be helpful in determining if you have oral herpes.

And also keep in mind that there are many people that have oral herpes that
don't get signs or symptoms that they can see or feel. So, having a herpes
type specific blood test will help to determine whether or not you have
herpes. It won't tell you the location but you'll be able to know that
statistically it's probably oral herpes.

Good luck,

Angela

Another thing to say is that, it would be really remote that you could
get herpes from kissing someone within 2 hours. Normally the minimum
time is 2 days to 1 month.

Al :)
