Has anyone else been having more oral herpes activity due to hot
weather? Its been brutally hot here in RI and I don't get that many
visible cold sores, but lately in the last couple of weeks I am getting
alot of oral prodrome (tingling and burning in the lips) and other
activity. I was just wondering if this is me, due to taking prednisone
or from the heat and sun.

I havent noticed any increases in my genital herpes problem, its about
the same.

Al,

Although I haven't had any outbreaks...I have noticed more tingling and
"warm sensations" on my lip this summer (in the same spot as always).
I'm in Texas and we're always hot here!  LOL  I am not on suppressive
therapy because I rarely have outbreaks, but in March, I had an
outbreak that was my first in many years.  I'm lucky I guess.

Hope the heat eases up soon (for many reasons)...hang in there!

Hi Michelle,

Thank you for writing. I guess its the hot weather then. because I very
rarely get visable coldsores and even when I do get them they are small
and not that noticable. Yes i am also getting the tingling and warm
sensations. I always get the tingling on the top lip and the bottom lip
mostly gets the sore or throbby sensations. My tingling is kind of
weird, it feels like someone is repeatingly poking me with a pin in my
top lip about 5-6 times in one spot, and it burns at the same time
also. I get the identical feeling in my genital areas before the
outbreak.

I think the weather is getting better, looks like its starting to
become more dry now with temps in the mid 80's instead of high 90's and
100's.

I think , just the excitement of meeting a new woman could make you more
nervous which could make you stressed out could be the problem.

But i am not a expert!
