Hello,

I recently met a new woman a couple of months ago. I might have already
wrote about her, not sure. She has oral herpes and i have genital
herpes and oral and hpv.

I have told her that I have genital herpes and hpv and she was
completly okay with it. We have been having sex without worries, since
she is okay that I have the "H" and she also knows I am unable to get
her pregnant.

I havent had any outbreaks in a while until last night when a slight
one started again. I havent told her that I am "active" because I
figured she already knows I have it, but I really dont want her to get
it either. I noticed that the lesions came out last night and are
already on the way out. My OB's are minimal now, so is it safe to say
that it would be okay to have sex this saturday night since the sores
are almost dried up already? Now I get lesions that come out pinching
and hurting and in a couple of days they are almost gone.

I don't want to have to deprive her of sex if I don't need to. We
already had to wait because she had her period a few days ago.

Al, no offense, but that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

You know you have to wait till all signs of the outbreak are completely
gone.  And we always recommend an extra day or three just to make sure.

Okay sorry, well I just wanted to be fair to her, but didnt want to
make much of it if it wasnt really a big problem. Since she already has
had oral herpes a long time, shes probably a little immune to genital
herpes. I'll just have to wait and see, but my OB's are weird
sometimes. Its like feast or famine, none for a long time then all of a
sudden back to back.

And I know Angela...I should be taking Valtrex, but I really don't want
to be on anymore meds. I'm sorry if I made anyone uptight or angry, I'm
not going to put anyone at risk and give them herpes.

No offence al, but I find it strange that you are more concerned with
being on "meds" and going without sex, than you are about bringing
someone else into this unpopular club.  I don't want to sound like I'm
on a high horse but you should be doing EVERYTHING possible to prevent
passing this on to someone else.  That means suck it up, and take the
Valtrex!  from your posts it sounds like you have frequent outbreaks
and we all know you can still spread it when you don't have an
outbreak.  And we all know that Valtrex greatly reduces the chances
that this poor woman will become one of us.

I really had to make this as polite as possible but I would much rather
scream something very rude.

Okay MikeNYC!

I'm not on a vendetta to give everyone herpes, I just had some thoughts
and maybe I shouldnt have verbalized my thoughts at that time when I
wrote this post. Please don't yell something loud I am a sensitive and
easy going person. A question for you is how come I never saw your
posts in this newsgroup before? Did you just get herpes? I had it about
10+ years so I am pretty used to is, but I dont like it. Yes I do have
frequent OB's, more so if I am under stress. I have both oral and
genital herpes and genital hpv. I still managed to live with it and
deal with it...well with a grimace on my face once in a while.

Ps. You probably know also that if a person has had herpes a long time
the chances of asymptomatic shedding is alot less.
