Hi,

A few years back I had a test for HSV1 and HSV2 and both were negative.
A year ago I had a test for bothe again and HSV IGG was positive.
A few month ago I was tested for both again and both negative (even the
IGG that was positive before).

Any thoughts,
Can I have herpes and have it not show in blood tests?

thanks
Gali

Hmmm...that's very interesting.

It takes up to 16 weeks, normally, for antibodies to show up in a blood
test.  So, if you have your blood tested prior to the antibodies showing up,
you might end up with a false negative.

However, that's not what's happened to you.

Do you have copies of these tests?

Where do you live?

Many times the herpes tests are difficult to interpret--which might explain
what is going on with you.  However, there is one test that will leave no
doubt and that's the Herpes Specific Western Blot.  Though, it can be tricky
to get this test,  especially if you don't live in the US or Canada.
