> When will Valtrex go generic? Does any body know the date?
Well 30 secs gives me a 1992 paper mentioning it. That would mean its had
at least 11 years out of the patent - plus the time before that to file
and so on.
I'll see if I can find the patent filing in the European Patent office
datafiles (they are web browsable and it should pull the US filing as
well)
Then its what 20years from that date isnt it, or is it 25....

GSK's own site say Valtrex goes off patent in 2009 or later. Presumably
thats the first patnet going in one territory and then swiftly after that.
Given there is public information in 1992/3 we are looking 20 years of
patent starting in 1989 and thelater territories where patents wer
obtained over the next couple of years.
