haha..
what a subject huh... i had to tell the world...

I was diagnosed with Herpes (GH) about three months ago.
They said I had it but I havn't had any symptoms since I was told. I
figured I was going to be asymptomatic. Man, what a conceited
assumption I had. SO yeah... i guess there's no real way to be, umm,
modest about it,
IT HURTS LIKE FU**!
damn these things are a pain... and it's like.. right between my legs
where, ya know.. friction between the legs... back and
forth...walking... - I'm going to go crazy.. LOL

so yeah.. in part of being somewhat nostalgic of this whole espisode
and somwhat abhorrent to it... i had to tell the world...

Much love and "understanding" to those who get outbreaks pretty
often..
my heart goes out to you all.

yeesh... gotta go to work now..
Laterz.

Ibuprofin really helps with the pain and swelling.

How did you get diagnosed?

I was diagnosed through a type-specific blood test... of course, i'm
not sure how that works.. all i know is that the doctor looked at it
and said 'yur tests came back neg except for one thing, herpes type
2."

I was expecting HIV.. so it was a total relif in a sense, but still
not so much. What was more peculiar is that she said I don't have Type
1, but only Type 2... now that's just stupid. Go figure.

Er why's that stupid.....HSV1 may be common but not everyone has it.

Hey JetBlue!

I don't know with what tests or citations this can be backed up, but my STD
expert tells me that once you have HSV2 antibody in your system, it's a
pretty good block against ever getting HSV1 later in life.  Seems that the
antibody to HSV2 is better at preventing a further infection with HSV1 than
visa versa.  It's quite normal for someone who already has HSV1 to then get
HSV2, but the opposite is not the case.

Just lookin' for those silver linings...

Hang in

I'm currently taking Valtrex,(1g) once daily non-supressive therapy)
just not sure if it's the best thing. I'm on insurance and even with
that it is really expensive.

For pain... I havn't done much... besides wear loosely fitted clothes
and try not to walk too funny. lol...
