I came across a website the other night about choraphar for treatment of
herpes. It talked like it was the best thing there was and had
testimonails from people who use it saying it works great and some
haven't had an outbreak in a year. It looks like its in a eyedrop bottle
and you put a few drops right on the sores, you wait til you have a
outbreak, not during symptoms and supposedly works better when not
takeing any other herpe medicine. When applied to sores some go away in
a day....has anyone ever tried this?? its about $100.00 a bottle

We've discussed it in here before.  But I can't remember the details.  Perhaps
you could try running a search and see what comes up.

The bottom line is that most of what you read on the internet for herpes is
bunk.  And if it really worked, then we'd all be using it.

I think $100 is a little steep. But if you've got the money and you want to try
it out, then give it a go and let us know what your results are.

If you want something that's a proven med, then try out one of the antivirals
prescribed for herpes.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

If you do decide to give Choraphor a try I hope you will write to me and let
me know  how it goes for you! I'd love to add your choraphor comments to my
feedback pages.

You can always find that by doing either a yahoo search or google search for
"choraphor feedback" OR "choraphor comments" and you should pull up my page
without any trouble.

You can also find feedback on clinically proven antivirals here:

Hope this helps,

Angela ;-)

I've compiled a page where folks have actually written to me sharing their
experiences with this product. If you are interested in reading the feedback
here is the link:

I have a friend that uses Choraphor while she is waiting for her Valtrex to
kick in. Perhaps using it to try and help deal with the discomfort is more
effective than it is as a herpes antiviral. As far as I know it has not been
clinically proven to treat herpes effectively.

Good Luck,

Angela ;-)

Hey, thanks for your help, I saw on your site where it says chorophor
can be bought over the counter in places, do you know where?, can I go
to the local drug store and get it? Before I purchase it I am going to
see if these outbreaks come more often, because 4 or 5 a year wasn't
bad, but then I had them 2 months in a row for the first time in 3
years. I take acyclovir now, but after hearing about choraphor  sound
like it works better thought I better check in to it. If I decide ever
to use it I will let you know results.

Let me double check that for you ~ when I find out for sure I will let you
know.

If I had to choose between Choraphor and Acyclovir I would take the
Acyclovir. Although I have heard people say that Choraphor helps with the
pain of an outbreak. A friend of mind takes it while she is waiting for her
Acyclovir to kick in. You are probably better off with the Acyclovir.

I would definitely be interested in your thoughts about the product if you
do decide to try it. I would love to add your feedback to my choraphor page

Thanks!

I just received my 2 bottles today, I actually order from some place that
gave me 2 bottles for $80.  I can't tell you if this stuff actully works or
not, but I can tell you that it sure BURNS!!!!!!!!  I discovered that I had
herpes back in May of 03, I hadn't had any outbreak since that time, I had
really been thinking that the doctors were wrong.  All of a sudden for the
last 2 months I have been having an outbreak, at first I didn't think that
was what was happening, until it just wouldn't go away and was iching like
crazy.  Unfortunatly I ended up spearding it all over my private, instead of
the 1 infected area.

In desperate search to find a fix, I read many success stories, that I took
as independent people giving there views.  From what I have read, whereever
this choraphor is applied the outbreak NEVER appears in the same area, which
is a good thing for me because I have spreaded it.

From what the instructions says, your to clean the area to be applied, dip a
q-tip into warm water sqeeze extra water out, the saturate the tip with the
chraphor and prepare for the burn of your life.  I applied this stuff about 4
hours ago and I still feel it burning.  What I'm feeling now isn't half as
bad as how I felt when I first applied this stuff.  I wonder is it suppose to
feel this way, after all this time?  I will keep updates on how it works out.

My update on ChoRaphor, I'm not going to downplay this product and say that
it doesn't work.  What I will say is that it is not made for women.  The
reason why , if your getting this for your private, and your a woman this
product will not work because in order for it to work, it requires that you
let this stuff form a scab, in order for the a scab to form, you have to keep
the area DRY.  Their is no way for a woman to do that.  I stayed up ALL night
legs gapped up on a fan, it did dry up and the scabed started forming, but
the minute I closed my legs the scab turned right back soft.

I have had to keep reapplying this stuff trying to stay under a fan, but I
just can't keep my legs open all night and something comes up where I have to
move around.  Applying this stuff burns like HELL, it is awful, it burns so
bad I could rep a phone book.

Hi,

I have tried Genisil http://www.genisil.com and Chloraphor.
http://www.chloraphor.com

I had good results from both.... genisil was cheaper, but it runs out fast as
you have to use it 3 times a day during outbreaks. but.. it does stop the out
break in its tracks very well! (It does smell tho, and it stains your clothes!
!)

I found chloraphor much better, u only need to apply it once for each
treatment so its more discreet and it lasts MUCH longer. its more expensive
for one bottle but cause you only use a drop each time it last much longer.

The biggest difference was in frequency of attacks. Genisil was great at
stopping the attack once it had started but Chloraphor was much better at
reducing the frequency of attacks. The other noticible difference was the
sting.. Genisil goes on smooth and gives nice instant relief... Chloraphor
stings like a hell.. but its well worth it and the sting only last a couple
of seconds.

I used to use both, now i jsut use chloraphor. My outbreaks were very severe
and another kicked in pretty much as the last was clearing up, but now i can
go a few months without any outbreaks at all, and when they come they are
much less painful and much shorter.  I would def recommend both products..
but when push comes to shuv... go fro chloraphor every time.

good luck!
