I just started my Hepatitis C treatments on 3/17/05. I'm feeling different
things but I don't know whats normal and what isn't. I've had a headache
pretty much since I started. Not to bad though. Also a sore throat. I'm a
little confused about this though. I'm taking Pegasys & Ribavarin.
Sideffects of the Ribavarin is that it could cause a sore throat and one of
the warnings for the Pegasys is to have a sore throat. It says to call the
doctor. How do I know which one is causing it? And does it really matter?
Also friends that have done the therapy told me that the depression, if you
even expierence it, doesn't come on until your 2nd or 3rd shot. Is this
true? Thanks so much for your help.

Treatment (tx) is different for everyone.  I didn't experience
headache or sore throats to any degree myself, but I understand they
are quite common side effects.
I guess that there is no way of knowing which drug is causing the sore
throat.  What I do remember though is that, for me, side effects came
and went - to be replaced by new side effects usually.  I had a
tightness around my skull (but not what I would call a headache) and
lightheadedness for a few weeks.  I went through a couple of weeks of
sore mouth (but not throat).  I had a very dry mouth and lips pretty
much all the way through (you are drinking lots of water aren't you?).
I was bad-tempered a lot.  Lots of fatigue too.  None of this stopped
me having a social life of sorts though - but only with people who
understood what was happening to me and accepted that all arrangements
were provisional.
I found it became very easy to become obsessed with the side effects
of tx.
Maybe try doing the things you enjoy (when possible) to take your mind
off it a bit?

What's this eh, Monkey Boy, friend of the lying malicous Sue Greenberg, who
turned *my* *friend* against me?

Think you are going to resume posting as normal do you?

Why not get back to alt.frugal-living and the auction newsgroups you inhabit
together?

You piece of lying filth, you and Greenberg, will regret the day that you were
born.

Your Lord and Master

I really don't know the jist of what was going on here. All this petty
fighting to me is childish. Just to say this though, for a first time user
of this site I was a little afraid to post because I checked it all out
first and saw your postings. The fact that this person was nice enough to
help me and all you could do was post some rude comment shows a lot. I
think the site should be used for what it was put here for. Did you ever
hear of Priciples before personalities!? I'm sorry to come off so strong
but I don't think that this site was made so that people could play
highschool he said she said name calling games on. Sorry If I offended
anyone, I just thought it important to stick with the important things like
helping one another and supporting one another!

I don't see the posts you are referring to Laura as they are probably
in my newsreader's killfile.
Maybe try posting on the newsgroup called:

alt.support.hepatitis-c

They argue there too sometimes but it's more supportive than here.
Hope that helps.

I know the principles before personalities philosophy too.  Sounds
like we've been to the same sort of places :-)

Auction newsgroups?  Sue Greenberg?  What the f.ck you talking about?  You
must be deranged.

Is that a threat?

Thank you Paul! I will try to keep this in mind. And I'm trying to drink
water. I've lost my appetite totally. But I will try to do what you said
and I really appreciate your time in helping me out. It's nice to know that
there are some people who still care! Take care!
