Having recently been on combo treatment for hepc (32 weeks, unsuccessfully),
I had to have hemorrhoid surgery while in treatment.  I know there are a
host of side effects with ribavirin and interferon.  Any evidence that
hemorrhoids may be one side effect that just hasn't been reported
sufficiently?

There is plenty of literature available on the web that associates hemorrhoids
and other vascular bleeding events on HCV antiviral therapy, due to reduced
platelet counts (thrombocytopenia). There is also plenty of literature that
associates hemorrhoids and other vascular bleeding events with low platelet
counts due to serious liver damage from HCV and other causes.

Either way, it appears having HCV or getting rid of HCV ain't great for the
ol' bunghole...
