I went to my doctor, she ran some blood tests, then called me and told me to
go immediately to the hospital.  Well, after a month, I'm out.  Basically, I
drank my liver into failure.  My husband told me I was getting sick, but I
just wouldn't listen.  Now I'm sick all the time, I itch everywhere, nobody
will consider me for a transplant because of my history of alcohol abuse -
at least not for another few months without drinking... and I have
definitely had my last drop of alcohol.  Anyway, that's the story.

The questions are: Is there anything I can do about this insane itching?

This is clearly something you should discuss with a primary care physician.
Pruritus due to liver disease can be difficult to treat, but an antihistamine
such as Benadryl (aka (diphenhydramine) is often prescribed, and as far as I
can tell, has no contraindications related to liver disease.
