Cody, please don't start.  You have no idea how much pain I'm in and I
really don't want to get angry.

It's bait.  Leave it.

I know.  I was hoping there was enough heart in him to get him to back off
just this once.

No, it was a joke.

Good advice. If you don't understand or appreciate a joke, best to not
say anything.

I really don't understand why one can't either laugh or scroll on to the
next post. I really don't feel the need\obligation to either embrace or
fight every thing that passes before me.

Just what did I embrace or fight?

Apparently, it's a knee-jerk Christian reaction.

You're not very Christian I take it.

Don't take everything so personal, Thip. I'm sorry about your pain and I
can assure you that it had nothing to do with this post.

Cody,
first of all, your quote is out of context in the Lenny Bruce
performance.  having done so, it distorts the message and I'm sure
Lenny Bruce would not think you're funny.  You just demonstrated how
immature and insensitive you are.  This group just settled down and
was behaving peacefully and this is an unprovoked attack, What, do you
derive some sort of sense of power and control over provoking people?
Maybe just a typical attempt to compensate for a "short-coming"?

Read CJ's response.  He's dead-on.

Oh, please put it into context.

I'm sure that you don't speak for anyone but yourself and much less
Lenny Bruce.

Really? How is posting a joke insensitive?

Whom did I attack? It was a joke, son.

No, I have little patience for religions that control their members with
fear and superstition, something you apparently have less of problem
with than a funny joke.

I have been monitoring this newsgroup since I began TX in September. I
had to be desensitized to the Rebetrol before adding the interferon.
This is my first time responding mostly because I'm not sure if I am
doing it correctly.

Anyhow, first let me say that my third shot almost didn't happen, but
reading some of your comments gave me the strength to do just  one
more. Now I have finished week 17 of 48 weeks! This is my third time
on treatment due to such an allergic reaction to the Rebetrol. I have
never made it this far, but as you know, it hasn't been easy. Results
are good except for the low platlet counts which I am dealing with
using Procrit, I have Stage 3 fibrosis, so I am determined to see this
through. I thank you all for allowing me to learn from you.

The other thing I want to address is the way you "old timers" treated
each other during the Christmas bashing of each other. I could not
believe how you talked to people who had been here for you, whether
you agree with their ways of thinking or not. I was so glad when it
ended so you could get back to helping each other.  And believe me I
know how easy it is to say things because of how the TX makes you
feel. There have been hateful things come out of my mouth that made me
think an alien had taken over my speech!

Now, in response to Cody's joke.  Due to brain fog, I didn't get it at
first. When I did, I thought it was humorous and, if you think about
it, it's true.  You don't have to be labeled a Christian to be a good
person, nor does not confessing to be a 'Christian' make you a bad
person,  If we treat everyone else like we want to be treated life
would be so much simplier. Call me simple minded, but I believe it is
just that simple.

Very well put trashestreet. I completely identify with how you thought
about no more shots around the third one. There were so many times thru
the treatment I wanted to quit, but somehow managed to keep going. In
part my ability to keep going was from this NG as I knew I wasn't the
only person going thru treatment and wasn't as I isolated as I felt at
the time.

Now its nearly time for round two, first time didn't work, and I know I
can do it.

Speaking of the "old timer's" on the list, I had an unfortunate
experience the other day on one of the Delphi Forum Chat Rooms. This was
a day or so after I had found out the treatment hadn't worked, so I
was feeling low and sorry for myself. Upon signing in to one of the Hep
C chat room, I noticed that one of the regulars on here was in the chat
room. I thought this was cool. Didn't turn out that way though. As soon
as I was in the chat room, this individual started belittling me for the
way I had put previous postings in this NG (something about using my
real email address instead of a fake one and that I would be attacked by
spammers as I was to dumb to know this). I thought what a jerk. Here I
was thinking how neat it would be to talk to someone I at least had some
knowledge of, but I left the room feeling like an idiot in front of the
six or so others in the room - not what I needed at the time. I've come
to the conclusion that yes, there are some on here who want to be
supportive and then there are others who for whatever reason choose to
be obnoxious.

I will continue to be here, but I have adjusted my expectations on what
to expect.

Take care and hang in there.

Sojo,
Certainly I didn't mean to sound obnoxious to your or anyone else on
Delphi the other day.  I found out the hard way about spam.  Why would I
want to belittle you?  I thought I was being helpful.  So much for info and
support.  Some people don't know that about using the addresses, etc.  Does
that mean they're dumb?   I don't know dick about plumbing but today I do it
anyway trying to keep the household happy.

cheers

Sorry that you relapsed like I did.  Let me know if Pharmacare will cover
your retreatment and how you managed to arrane that if they are.

Thanks
