I finish my 72 weeks of treatment on February 13, and due to the usual
red-tape (my pharmacy refuses to send partial orders) I will have
extra medication. Specifically,

At least 4 weeks of ribavirin (an unopened bottle of Copegus, plus any
remaining tabs in an opened bottle)

1 extra Pegasys rediject

3-4 extra Neupogen redijects

Obviously, the second two would have to be picked up due to spoilage---
I live in the Los Angeles area.

The riba can travel.

It would be a shame to waste such expensive meds, IMHO.

If you can't find anyone that needs the meds, the social worker at the
hospital may be interested in them.

I'm guessing for legal reasons they can't take back medications, even
unopened bottles of ribavirin. Could be wrong, though, and if it comes
to that I will find out.

Hey, that's a great idea,  as I am coming close to the end, I too will
have extra pills and would be more than happy to share the little
bastards.  let me know if you want em.  Joe

When I quit tx the last time there was someone here that wasn't covered
by insurance, or in the middle of losing their insurance, and they were
going to have to quit tx midway. I was able to send two months worth of
meds that I had left over. If you do send any peg, procrit, or neupogen,
I sent mine by UPS overnight packed in the ice packs that were used
when sent to me. The person did receive it within two days and the meds
were still cold. I don't advocate breaking the law, but there are times
when unusual circumstances call for unusual solutions. I don't remember
if the person beat the dragon or not, but at least they had the weapons
to give it their best shot and that is the best anyone can do.
