Goodmorning,
I took my first shot and set of pills last night, wasn't to bad. I
was real nurvous, afraid I would not do it right. So far no change but
I am sure there will be in the weeks to come.
I was able to drink all my water intake, which is a good thing for
me, because I don't do water.
I also had to be given a shot for Hep A and B is this common? Did'nt
understand what one had to do with the other will have to take another
one in 4 weeks and again in 6 months.

Assuming one doesn't test positive for the antibodies to either one, getting
the HepA and HepB vaccines is A Good Thing - and should be part of the
standard of care for HepC patients - two fewer ways to incur more liver
damage. The HepA vaccine usually "takes" on the first try, while the HepB
requires at least two shots (and, fwiw, may still not work, but it's still
worth the try).

It can be a pita to deal with the water thing, but believe me it is *huge*. If
you don't keep up with water intake many of the side effects of treatment will
be magnified. At the first sign you're feeling out of sorts, drink more water.
And note that it doesn't have to be "plain" water - you can certainly flavor
it with whatever makes you feel good (or at least better) about chugging :-)

Cheers - and good luck with your therapy!

I have always been luke warm on water myself, but found that the
instant gatorade (cheaper than the bottled stuff) worked for me and I
was able to chug away.

Congrats on starting the process of getting rid of the virus and best
of luck with your treatment.  What helps me to drink water is to drink
selzer water with just a little bit of juice like cran/blueberry to
add a little flavor.

Hi Pam, and welcome to the group.  My dr. recommended shots for a-b as
well.  Glad to hear your first shot went ok.  Hang on and keep in
touch!!!  There's lots of knowledgeable people here who have been thru
it all,  good luck

Hep A and B are  much more serious if you have Hep C. They can even be
fatal if memory serves me right. Everyone with Hep C should get
vaccinated even if they dont treat or are non-responders.
