Hello, just needing to check in,  how are you guys doing?  Haven't
seen much activity here for a while.  Hey Wally's Girl, did you get
your 12 week results back?  hopin it was goooood news, Jamfer, you
still taking a "walk in the park"?  My first 2 weeks weren't bad, I
didn't get the "ick" until Sunday,  but week 3 and 4 it hit right away
on Sat, and has been hanging on all week.  it's been constant fatigue
and flu-like symptoms.  I had to take off work and slept all day
monday.  I started on Celexa last week cuz I really did start to feel
suicidal.  Wish I had some disability insurance now.  Don't know if I
can make it thur this for a whole year. Well, I hope better for the
rest of you.   Hi Sarah, Water Spider, Deb, Grey.

Hope the Celexa helps, it might take a bit for it to really kick in -
not to say that you will suddenly feel "wonderful" agian, but it will
be "better" at least. Try not to think of it as making thru the whole
year - try to think of it as making it thru "TODAY" - I was never big
on counting the days or even the weeks, because I always felt that
would not be the way for me personally to go and it would overwhelm
me...I just Knew that I would be done at Thanksgiving and sat back and
enjoyed the ride (Ha!) Then one day you are magically there, hopefully
the Dragon is Dead, and you are asking yourself
"was that really a whole year???"  At least there is one "Benefit"
from Brain Fog - keep on keepin on ~Deb
PS Water water water water water water (I liked Gatorade actually!)

Hi TC

The Celexa will soon help, plus you'll get used to your own
weekly 'pattern', and learn how to cope with the yuck days -- are
you taking tylenol before your shot and maybe the next day too?

Sleep is your friend now, sleep whenever you can.  I know you can
do this, just take it easy and don't push yourself any harder
than you have to.  If you have to work, take it as easy as you
can there, and just let everything else slide for now (tho paying
your bills would be a good idea!)...  some days you'll feel
better than others and you can play catchup then.

take care of you, hope you are eating healthy and drinking that
water.  that will help.  and if you keep feeling really wiped
out, talk to your doctor and make sure your blood counts are
ok... you may need extra help med wise to get some energy!

taking vitamins?  they can help too!  Ensure or Boost are good
when you don't feel much like eating.  There is also a powder
called EmergenC that's good to add to a drink and gives you lots
of good vitamins/minerals.

I really hope things settle into a better routine for you soon.
And remember to take this one day at a time... don't keep
thinking of having to do it for a 'whole year'.... one day at a
time :)  you'll have good days and bad days... enjoy your good
days!

take care, and stay in touch.  sending good vibes at cha...

Hey there, TC. Looks like you're officially on the express elevator with all
the ups and downs that entails.

Have you been getting lab work done yet? You should have had a CBC at least by
the end of the second week, and should be due for another at the end of the
4th week, to see if there are any trends being established (like, anemia or
neutropenia, for instance). And if you can swing it, get your doc to do a VL
check at the end of the 4th week as well, it might provide some extra
encouragement.

By the 4th shot I wasn't getting the rigorous flu symptoms on Saturdays - just
a general feeling of the blahs. Didn't wanna do anything, didn't wanna eat
anything, I just wanted to veg out in front of the 'puter or the boobtoob, and
keep a bowl going with water back (LOTS of water back ;-) and try to hang on
until the up-swing started by the end of Sunday. Things would slowly get a
little bit better each day until by Friday night I would have the best meal of
the week - followed by the next shot and another ride down the elevator
again...

It can be tiring, but you have to keep the goal in mind through it all. In
spite of all the aggro the treatment is hitting you with, you're doing this to
get better.

Cheers - and hang in there, bub. We're pulling for you!

/greyhackles (and drink that water until it bubbles out of your ears ;-)

Live in the moment. Don't believe thoughts like that. Just observe
them and realize they are lying to you.

TC,
I'm sorry you're feeling so bad.  I was fortunate not to have to work
during treatment, don't think I could have anyway, but maybe I could
have if I had to.
Listen up to the ones who did have to work, their experience will give
you more hints to help.
Try not to let the quite board sit, speak up, someone might be waiting
for someone else to talk.
Chin up, We will be here when you need us.
