TX-012 - 25 Mar 2008 22:11 GMT > anybody know if Vicodin has an negative interactions with tx? > TC I take 120 generic Vicodin ES/month. I imagine not, provided your liver isn't too severely damaged to deal with the acetaminophen.

I hate vicodin, it gave me a horrible hangover too. I do well with tramadol though, maybe take half as much? and take it with 2 regular strength tylenol.
tylenol with codeine might work for you, may as well try it... maybe just one pill at first? (either/or, not with the tramadol of course :) )
otherwise, how's your water intake? I'd try upping that if you are drinking less than a half-gallon a day (which should be double that if/when you are on tx) I get very few headaches now that I drink more water.
only other suggestion I can think of is a decongestant. Can your headaches be sinus related? I used to get some killer sinus headaches (when I smoked :) ) and the only thing that would touch them would be a good decongestant/antihistimine combo.
good luck, been there and I know how miserable headaches can be

============== I'm doing well, thanks for asking :) I really can identify with you re: the headaches, I used to get really miserable sinus headaches. Try to drink more water, you might be surprised how much that really does help. Hope the weather cooperates with you and your sinuses clear up for a while and give you some relief!
take care, and hopefully this group will wake up and quit being so quiet! (maybe I should be careful what I ask for!)

Cactus Jammies - 28 Mar 2008 17:14 GMT Hey topcat, Yes this is a slow moving list, not like it was when I first started corresponding here. So, headaches. Yesterday, I googled 'cause headache' then I googled 'hepatitis c headache' and really didnt didn't come up with much. I was hoping to add some info on this particular string, but all I did is confuse myself. lol. If you can, try reading through some of the material under the search criterion 'cause headache'. There are three or four greater causes or types of headaches plus results of whatever your body might be experiencing, expressed as a headachey symptom. Guess what that might be. :)
hang in there, TC

eileen - 29 Mar 2008 19:51 GMT > > > anybody know if Vicodin has an negative interactions with tx? > > > TC [quoted text clipped - 9 lines] > you saying you did use vicodin during tx? > TC Sorry TC, What I meant to say was I was taking Oxycontin and Oxycodone. Neither of these had tylenol in them, so I supplemented them with Ibuprophen. One was a 12 hour and the other 4 hour was for break through pain. Worked for me, my dose was upped a tad during treatment and now I'm back down to my normal dose. As far as the sinus headache I used a Nettie Pot. http://unimedprod.com/netipot_1.shtml?gclid=CIzD6774spICFQ4JPQod5wGNMQ It was under $20 at Wallmart and other drug stores it comes with 50 packets of the nasal solution of Sodium Chloride and Sodium Bicarbonate. Right now they are having a free Neti Pot offerat their website above. I am not selling just recommending something that I still use for allergy symptoms. Sara is right about the water, it is essential. I also used candied ginger (found in the spice section) for the nausea but once I had relief I spit it out. To me it gets bitter. Another tip for the burning mouth and sores is using a dry mouth toothpaste "Biotene" and when things got too bad I would suck on Mycelex tabs that my doctor wrote a script for. To help with the metal (money) taste caused from the interferon I used little "Tastycake"chocolate donuts, they helped for all my ailments. Problem is I still want more but now that I'm off treatment the weight is comming on againso I'm cutting back! This group was alot busier but harsh answers and control freaks turned many people away. So if we want to keep it going we all must try to avoid both. I hope this helps. eileen
