Hallo gray
Thanks for asking....well Im sure happy for the news I recieved today,
but I still feel a little beat up after so many months, years, three
and a half to be exact.
I guess a lot is going on, you know, like thaughts and stuff......I
mean like being hit with stuff like hep-C made me realise and
experience how vonorubale I am and this really made me crash and burn.
The hep and tx placed me and my whole life in a kind of waitingroom,
my life sort of stoped in suspended animation, and now when im trying
to recover and get back to normal I find it dificult to get back on
the track, if you now what I mean, and this is a challange for me.
I feel great physically but a lot is going on mentally, Im seeing a
shrink since six months, but hey! how can you fully understand what
another person is feeling if you haven´t gone through the same
experience?
I guess Im better off today than before tx anyway, and as days go by I
do believe Im doing progress and some days are better than others
maybe Im in bit of a hurry or expected that my recovery would be much
more faster and easyer, I don´t know......
Anyway....Im able to plan for my future now and leave the whole ordeal
behind, guess what, Im going on a vacation to Morocco for a week and
do the ole hippie treck in march!! :-)
Take care

I'm sure you've posted this before, but what treatments have you done
and what finally worked?

Hi Russian
Well, this is a new posting I made just recieved news from my doc
saying Im still undetectable 7 months after 48 weeks of tx.
I don´t really know why it worked out this round of tx, Im a 3a and
hade a viral load of 3500000 I took a shot of interferon/week and 6
tablets of Riba/day.
My post before this one was about my recovery and the dificultys Im
having to get back on the track.
How are you doing Russian, I remember reading you relapsed? m I
right?? what are your plans right now, are you going to try a round of
tx again?
Take care

I'm not sure whom this question is directed at but here's my experience. In
November 07 I went in for a 2 year post tx completion check up and was told
my VL is still undetectable. My doctor released me but gave me a standing
order for liver function tests every 6 months but didn't order any more Hep
C tests or schedule any office visits. I'm to call his office for BW
results. I believe I was exposed to the virus through a blood transfusion in
1973. I've never had a biopsy and my liver function levels have always been
normal. My HCV infection was discovered by accident while trying to diagnose
the reason for my elevated Ferritin level in 2004.Tests indicated I might be
suffering from Hemochromotosis but my elevated Ferritin level has normalized
since completing treatment although it became dangerously high during
treatment. My doctor is still at a loss to explain the elevated Ferritin
level. I was type 1a with a load of 2.5 million going into treatment. I
took the combo treatment for 48 weeks with rather severe side affects but
completely recovered within 6 months of completing tx. It was a rough 11
months but obviously at this point I feel it was well worth it.
