Greetings and salutations to all: I am about to start tx - Pegasys and Ribaviron. Will sex become a memory and future thing during treatment. It sounds like, from reading your posts, that getting one's self up and out of bed is all the getting up that can be accomplished. Seems as though the energy and desire will succumb to the drugs. Can anyone shed light on this? Suds Intercourse? It shouldn't be a problem! Actually one of the side effects of treatment for some of us was/is hypersexuality. Like you were a youngster all over again. Better yet I'll drive and you can ride along! Since i decided to hang around for a while I went and bought an ATV, Yamaha "Grizzly" 700 4x4. What a blast.... All in all a lot more relaxing than driving the whole way. I have always wanted to see the Pacific coast from that train, it is supposed to be quite something, the best ride they got. You ever go anywhere by passenger train? But now that I am 9 months in to treatment the stamina isn't there. I had the hypersexuality thing at first and now I have toned down a bit. I think if you can throw a good bang before the treatment you should be able to during. But if you take antidepressants for the sides, forget it, your willy will not be good for anything except urinating. Assuming you are a male :-) Women definitely have the advantage in this aspect of tx. I wonder if maybe that's why women have slightly higher odds of clearing then men??? All I can tell you is of my own experience. I'm sure it has been at least a year since my husband & I have had sex. He has just finished his 12th shot. So as you can tell sex wasn't very often even before tx started. Not to say that I don't miss sex because I do. But we aren't kids any more & it's not as important as it once was. I am grateful that he was diagnosed & that by the grace of God we will have a few more years together. It's funny how things that one thought were important really don't mean that much as time goes by. But if you feel good enough to enjoy sex then by all means go for it!!
