I got the results of my 6 month post treatment test results this
morning.

Im not sure but I think that makes me offically a DRAGONSLAYER.

I realize so many dont respond to treatment. So  Im greatful to God
for this second chance at life.

I was Genotype 1. I probably had it for over 30 years, maybe even as
long as 40. Biopsy showed
I was Stage 3, Grade 3. The doctor was talking about putting me on the
transplant list if the virus was still active. Heres a secret for
those starting treatment.

Matthew 18:19

"Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything
that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in
heaven."

And here is link to some nice people willing to remember you in thier
prayers.

Give yourself some credit.
If it was God's doing, my treatment would not have worked and at least a few
other folks here would have been successful.

I'll take the credit for getting it in the first place.

I think the reason the specialist said, "probably cirhhosis" was from
my first biopsis 2 years previous, I progressed  rapidly to st-2 gr-4.
I don't know if the rate of damage stays consistant or not, but if in
2 years I progressed fairly rapidly, I assume they feel things must be
a fair bit worst 7 years later.
Still, I do want another biopsis.

Thanks for the input.

I agree but for people with religous convictions don't you think it
helps them to maintain a
positive attitude ?

I have a positive attitude, I am positive I can't wait to get off the
TX :-)

Congrats anonymousone, sounds like you killed the Dragon.

Yes, it does indeed.
And congratulations! Well done! :-)

A question on the stage and grade deciphering. My last biopsis, 7
years ago, showed  stage 2 grade 4. The specialist put on his report
"probable cirhosis. That was my second biopsis, and the Dr. doesn't
want to do another one for me. Because I'm a Hemophiliac I have to
have my biopsis Trans-jugular. I'm assuming that in 7 years I would
have gone up a stage or so. Maybe I should insist on another biopsis
incase I'm a candidate for a transplant list. I'm 53 and in Canada the
cut-off for a transplant is 55.

Thanks for any info.

If you do go for another biopsy, get another specialist to read it. Stage 2
*usually* means non-bridging fibrosis; Stage 3 is bridging fibrosis; Stage 4
is cirrhosis; which would leave you quite a ways from a cirrhosis diagnosis.

You really cannot predict the progression of liver damage. You may well be
still Stage 2, or you could be Stage 4, or somewhere in between (about the
only thing you know is you haven't regressed).

I'm stunned that Canada has such a ridiculously low cut-off for liver
transplants! Cripes - I'm 55! I don't know what the typical wait for a
transplant is in Canada, but if you feel anxious about your situation,
insisting on a biopsy may be a good idea...

To that point:

My 2006 biopsy showed "Stage 3 - bridging fibrosis, cannot exclude
cirrhosis", but then went on to say, "Consistent with 2001 biopsy.",
which I think means "no change".

Was your 2001 stage 3 as well?

2001 was before I started getting my own copy of lab reports... learned
that here.

There is a blood test now called Fibrosure. It is most accurate on
early and
later stages of liver disease. You sound  like a good candidate for
that.
