I meant to post this as a new topic; sorry for the Dept. of Redundancy Dept.
brainfart.

Hey Doc, congrats on the new toy-- I can't wait to see your photos.

To any other pixel people in the group, I'd like to invite you to join a
rather elite Flickr group called Dance With The Dragon:

p.s. For those of you who don't remember, photography saved my sanity while
I was doing tx. I spent hours sitting in my garden taking macros of bugs,
flowers and Fraser, then indoors experimenting with Photoshop. It was the
only thing that got my mind off of how miserable and discouraged I felt, and
how scared I was that the treatment wouldn't work and that I would never
recover from (a) hep C and/or (b) treatment enough to live a normal life
again. It all worked out fine, and after I did get back to "normal" I
discovered that my passion for photography remained. Another bonus: now I'm
decently proficient with Photoshop!

OMG another Firesign Theater fan ?  :-)

Waterspider, I am 1B and 6 months in to a possible 12 month
stint on this horrid sh.t and I cannot thank you enough for the
before and after pictures. Truly inspirational. Words cannot express
how
they make me feel inside, you have planted a seed of hope in my heart
and I am forever grateful.

Peace,

Guy

Wowzers Spidey, I should read the replies to my posts more often, you
really ripped me
a new one on ( Insert unmentionable here ).
I do see your point and I do sincerely apologize for that.
You are absolutely right there is no disputing the fact.

I don't think I'll be around for awhile, Elmo if you are out there, we/
I miss you buddy.

Guy, I wasn't ripping you a new one so much as trying, really hard, to make
a very important point, one that I (and others) have repeatedly tried to
make with gentler words. The gentle words don't seem to work because we keep
reading posts about alternative "cures." That said, I apologize if I hurt
your feelings, and I freely admit that I am severly lacking in the tact
department.

I'm glad that you liked my photos, and I hope that you'll be adding some of
your own.

Kick butt Waterspider!

Near the end of my tx I started a scanning project to get all my pictures
digitized. I bought a Canon 9950F Flatbed scanner and Photoshop Elements 5
along with "The Missing Manual" book. It sure helped me keep my mind
focused. (When I could remember to do anything)

I'm not very good a PS yet. I just use the "Divide Scanned Photos" feature.
That's nice and handy.

Glad to see you're doing ok.

My six month test is the 2nd of July. Wish me luck.

Good luck, Toe, not with the test because you'll probably do just fine, but
with the anxiety leading up to getting the results.

Sounds like you know a bit more about PS than I do; never noticed a Divide
Scanned Photos command. But there's sooooo much to learn-- just this weekend
I finally tackled Continuous Shooting mode on my Canon S3. Had a hell of a
time with it, re-read the manual fifty times, tried all the possible ways to
do it and all the possible combinations of all those ways... still couldn't
get it to work. So, finally, with hat in hand, I went to the S3 discussion
board on flickr and asked for help. Guess what? There's a little button
right by the shutter button...  arrrrrgh! Cool feature though, works like a
power drive on an slr.

Yes, I'm doing fine, thank you, life without the dragon is all that it
should be. But... damn, I sure miss those riba headaches, and I'm sure you
do too <g>
